St Peter Stanway Bells
Restoration
By 2014 the original four bells were unsafe to ring. A local restoration project ensured that the bells were restored to their former glory and augmented with a new, 5th bell. The bells have been re-hung with new running gear and the bell frame from 1904 strengthened and made stable. The cost was defrayed by The Gloucestershire Environmental Trust with tax contributions donated by Cory Environmental, The Gloucester and Bristol Diocesan Association of Church Bell Ringers, Gloucestershire Historic Churches Trust, The Church Buildings Council, The All Churches Trust, The Four Shires Guild of Bell Ringers and through the generosity of many personal donors including James Charteris 13th Earl of Wemyss and March, the late Joyce Stevens, The Hughes Family, Mrs Hilda Ridley and many anonymous donors.
